Nestled along the southern Sierra Nevada mountain range, Tulare County is consistently the second highest producing agricultural jurisdiction in the United States.
Surprisingly though, that doesn't mean that the bulk of its innovative spirit springs from the well-tilled soil. Its residents lay claim to a spectrum of inventions involving every field of industry - from farming to computers, from pharmaceuticals to fanciful lapses in practicality.
Tinkering in obscurity, many of the county's prolific minds left only their creations behind as a remembrance of their time here.
